The Maharashtra government announced extension of the general lockdown until July 31 with an aim to contain the Covid-19 surge . The notification issued by the state government has also restricted inter-district travel between municipal corporations within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) to that for office purposes and essential activities like medical reasons. *Maharashtra reported 11,147 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday, its single highest addition in a day so far since the beginning of the pandemic . The highest addition until then was 10,576 on July 22. The total cases in the state are now 4,11,798; of these, 1,48,150 are active cases An estimated 17,220 Covid-19 patients were intravenously administered Remdesivir and 28,250 more were given Tocilizumab injections in the state between June 15 and July 28, shows data compiled by the Food and Drug Administration.
